Erosion

Why is it that we as human beings settle for so little?
When we are young there is so much hope and aspiration,
It fills us to the brim....

so that ever other minute we want to be something, more

Then it fades....

slowly at first so we don’t even notice,
like the sea, calm and peaceful,
the waves flowing back and forth to an unheard rhythm
you would never guess that it was eroding the coast.

Not until it was gone.
